It's nice that infant schools let the kids use the net
.... but we shouldn't - and don't - expect much in the way of coherent opinion. I guess Microsofties everywhere are on a mission to underplay the monotonous regularity with which Windows' systems are compromised by kiddie-scripted malware. If Linux systems were infected on a weekly or daily basis in the way that Windows is, the MS PR machine would make a very jhigh profile meal of it. Unfortunately for Microsofties, it doesn't happen, so all that's left is to spin, distract and FUD.

The infrastructure of the internet and a whole crowd of safety and life critical systems have been running UNIX and LINUX without crashing on a weekly basis for years. "Bang for the buck" hackers would dearly love to be able to bring such systems down, imagine the accolades not just from their hacker pals but also the Microsoft PR machine, desperate for some proof that UNIX/LINUX operating systems are as vulnerable or unstable as the Microsoft suite of virus propagation software. Face facts! Hackers would LOVE to be able to wreak the damage on *NIX systems that they so easily wreak on Windows. They would LOVE to be able to crow about bringing down safety critical, or even majorly business critical computer infrastructures. They can't.

With a few terabytes of patching and a couple of billions from the "snuff out competition" fund spent on R&D instead, Windows could possibly be made almost as secure as LINUX and UNIX already is ... happy
