True. I have watch the Controller who was in charge of the network & PCs
Open up the first Window, delete each email & when she got to an attachment open it without even looking at the sender. See was doing this as fast as she could because she had about a hundred email.

When I told her this was a bad practice she said it's ok I have a virus checker don't I and if it gets messed up that's what we hire your company to fix.

I was thinking no wonder she didn't want me to "worry" her users in the office by sending them a newsletter training them in security.

This is the true reality of a tech company working with small to medium size businesses. You do as you are told or you loose the client. In a large company you have a IT structure that protects you. In smaller company you don't.

If they had not been running Windows these bad practices would not have been so critical.

I once tried to setup everyone as a standard user and as soon as one of them complained about not being able to install Yahoo bar I was told it was non of my business what they installed.

After many sleepless nights worrying about my clients, I closed my Windows support business and when to a Linux support business.

The same person is now considering switching. She doesn't know enough about Linux to make bad decisions about using it.
