Another hopeless atempt to spin un-fitness for purpose positively
The bottom line is this. The people so far affected by this particular un-patched Windows exploit foolishly expected to be able to use the word processing product they paid Microsoft for. They can't, without risk of compromising the underlaying OS. Because Microsoft won't be losing even a deci-fraction of income over this, the affected end users can be safely ignored, and the un-patched flaw can just be left to gape. This is the joy of being a monopoly, with a locked in user base. You can root them until they bleed, and they can't leave without incurring substantial losses. Sweet. The guy who gave us on the inside track on how Microsoft view its developpers as pawns, missed a chance to tell us how they saw end users. As hosts, perhaps? For their parasitic revenue collection schemes?
