- Thank God that legislators in Maine had the balls to stand up to this tyranny. What makes you think that real id or the unpatriot act will serve to give any real protection from terrorists. Supposedly nineteen inexperienced yahoos and a guy in a cave thousands of miles away in a cave with a laptop pulled off the world trade center job. Now to do this they had to overcome millions, more likely billions of dollars worth of some of the most advanced hardware and infrastructure on the planet while outwitting the F.B.I., the C.I.A. and thousands of other highly trained security and military personnel. Now if that is what truly happened, we have a bunch of incompetent idiots at the helm at best or a bunch of lying, murdering thieves at worst. I am betting on the latter and I would prefer not to let those kind of people have access to private information so readily. Throughout history more people have been murdered by their own governments than by enemy armies. Of course that statistic could fall to the wayside with the efficiency that the U.S. military kills "enemy" populations. If you want to see real terrorism, take a look at what the U.S. military is doing to the Iraqui civilian population. As for weapons of mass destruction, investigate depleted uranium munitions being used in the Middle East theatre poisoning the environment for thousands of years into the future. Before you start making accusations of supidity you should examine what you "think" is the truth. Try thinking for yourself, examine alternative avenues of information and get away from the bs that the mainstream "controlled" media spoon feeds us.
