Well, I have no experience with Linux and will take your word for your experiences
with it. However, the many people I know and work with, and lots of those who
take part in discussions like this, are generally fed up with how difficult it is to
maintain Windows, especially in dealing with malware. Most have no choice
because their employer has set Windows as the standard, but your level of
satisfaction seems to be in the extreme minority.

Cost effective? Why pay and wait for years for Windows to have the features the
Mac OS has had? It is hilarious how several "new" features in Vista, after over 5
years of promises, look just like OS X of years earlier, but they appear on different
sides of the screen, etc., so MS can claim they are new. Pathetic.
