Before you mislable someone
A Sociopath does know the difference between right and wrong, they just don't care. What they do not have is guilt or remorse. They do not feel emotions as you (I assume) or I do. Instead, they become adept at mimicing others emotions to fit in. I think you would feel very differently if you were ever the victim of "white collar" crime. I don't think you would care what color the criminals collar was if it was your money they took. If your defence suggestion was even close to reality, no serial killer could ever be convicted.
