Symantec BIG prob affects ALL, not just Corp users
We are seeing a smoke screen from Symantec about a far more serious problem than they have let on... I believe that ALL Symantec users, including Corp customers have been affected by the zombie attack.

I say this because in the past 2 weeks, my PC (supposedly protected by Norton Internet Security, Anti-Virus, Anti-SPAM and Systemworks) has receives an average of 50+ "rejected" emails that I never sent to people I don't know. I have activated all of these Symnatec products for "Automated Update" so that I am supposedly always running the latest Symantec updates. Their supposed May '06 "fix" to this zombie problem simply did not work on my PC.

Two nights ago, eBay abruptly shut down my account because there was an unauthorized password change. The time the ebay password change occured was after I was asleep, but why did Symnantec software not catch the intrusion? Because they have left a gaping security hole that should have been fixed months ago has exposed my PC ebay account to online theft and fraud. I wonder if lack of R&D product development and a real sense of urgency was lost when Symantec moved most R&D to India?

Sorry Symantec, your time has run out on my patience that has worn thin and when subscription renewal time comes around, you are not on my list of preferred vendors. The trade rags are right, Symantec had some of the best products several years ago, but they lost their edge and are now slipping into a liability hole for defective software products...
