Norton has always sucked
I have been afflicted with various Norton products since Windows 3.1. They have all, always, sucked. Many crashed my computer; some required an OS re-install. All inserted their nasty claws deep into the OS in ways that changed its behavior without my approval and that were hard or difficult to remove. (For instance, try to access the original OS defragmenter after installing a Norton defragmenter.) Worst of all, I bought their Norton Anti-virus 2002, and PAID FOR one year of updates. 6 months later, my updates were unavailable. I was told that, yes, I still had 6 months of updates coming to me, but I would have to purchase Norton Anti-virus 2003 in order to USE them.

Norton is dishonest, and their products are bad, have always been bad, and always will be bad.
