SAV is a pig
Symantec Antivirus is a resource hog that brings reasonably modern Intel machines to their knees while it scans. It doesn't catch viruses and spyware that Trend Micro Housecall, Ewido.net online scan and Spybot S&D do catch.

I have Symantec Antivirus on ~100 XP SP2 boxes and I'm looking for a replacement. We won't be renewing our Symantec licenses this year.

Having said that, you know what the best antivirus suite is?

Mac OS X. I have 20 Macs running OS X 10.4.8 without ANY antivirus, spam or spyware protection at all. No viruses, no infections, no problems in over five years with no protection.

Mac OS X is BSD Unix with a gorgeous interface. It's secure, it's fast, it's stable, it's compatible and it runs MS Office if you gotta have it.

All the FUD you hear about new Mac viruses and how the Mac platform is just as susceptible as Windows? Look for the (paid for by Microsoft) fine print at the end of the article. Follow the money.

The train's pulling out of the station, folks. Get on board.
