The Upgrade Process......
So we run SAV 10.0.1.1000 (one of the vulnerable versions). About 700 PCs broken out over 3 locations each with their own SAV Parent Servers.

So I hear about this flaw several months back, I scour Symantec's site looking for the patch for our specific version (not an easy feat). Finally find it, but only discover that the patch to fix the vulnerability (10.0.1.1009) requires an install of a previous patch (10.0.1.1007) first.

So we have to push out MSP patches to all 700 PCs (not including external laptops which aren't going to get patched) to bring them up to a more current, yet still vulnerable state. Then I get to re-patch all workstations up to 10.0.1.1009

The most inefficient, bloated, unproductive attempt at software upgrades I've ever endured. All this despite the fact that we have options enabled within Live Update to download ALL product updates. Only to find out Symantec deems Live Update unacceptable to push out patches for their bloated software that does nothing but crush the performance of any computer it is installed upon.

praying Vista doesn't ever needed AV (although I know that's a pipe dream)
