No Click - No Phish (or.... Bookmark, don't click)
Only people with online accounts can get phished, and, as the article rightly points out, online account holders have to be tricked.

A simple method for not getting phished:
1. The first thing to do is determine the legitimate URL for every web site where you conduct online financial transactions. If you do not know how to do this call the company or bank.
2. Log into each account and bookmark (or add to favorites for IE users)the first web page you see with the https in the address. (This will avoid getting a phishing site if DNS poisoning has taken place - see http://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/sarc/E-Democracy/Final_Report/Glossary.htm&usg=__Sr70a3p7xL1HEOw3tznu1XfLshU=
)
3. Thereafter ONLY log into web sites where you have online accounts using the bookmark (favorite) for that web site. Note: If the logon page is not https, you ill be redirected back to the http logon page of the correct web site.
4. If you get an email that appears to be from one of your financial transaction web sites, NEVER, EVER click on any links in the email. Use your bookmark (favorite) to access the web site and navigate to the place discussed in the email. I may take a few seconds loner if the email happens to be legitimate, but that small time loss is better than a large money loss.
5. As the article says, if you are on a web site and are asked to click a link that goes to one of your financial transaction web sites, DON'T!!
If you follow the above steps, you don't have to worry about phishing web sites or phishing emails.
