User problem!
Every time I see something like this I thank my mild case of paranoia for saving
me yet again. A lot of what this vulnerability is capable of seems to be limited to
the account the malware is released in. My personal account could get hosed.
Bugger! My system would still be safe, though, and my working files ... just my
games and email would be toast. Why? The Admin account on my system is
almost never used and I do my work on other logins. The former is a security
thing - I decided up front that my paranoia was right, that using an Admin
account for User activity was foolish beyond telling! The latter is a recognition of
personal failing - if games are available, I will play. [p]
Windows makes it easy to do the wrong thing and accept the default without
understanding the consequences. Apple and OSX make it easy to understand the
consequences, but the default is still "set up my account as Admin". Both should
insist - out of the box - that they be set up with a User Account, and
then with an Admin Account. That order in order to 'trick' people into
setting up their own account as a User account.[p]
