IT, specificly the Internet, is a time bomb!
Anytime something as powerful as the Internet is left uncontrolled, disaster is the only possible end. It's sad that people have to be reigned in by laws and rules. People will never be able to reach their potential as intelligent(?) beings when constraints exist regarding every facet of life. But the saddest part is that we have to have these constraints to survive.

The Internet is the latest frontier where once again we can't take care of ourselves. If you don't believe that the "powers that be" aren't goimg to step in and take over before very long, you are not reading the news.

I think at the present, every threat, wee or huge, should be considered very serious. Each single threat is bringing us closer to government control over the Internet. To date, our government has done a good job of not interfering with the Internet. But in the last few months, several new laws have been in the headlines.

Pretty soon we'll be playing an entirely new game with entirely new rules. If we get to play at all.
