I thought your post was interesting and had no problem with it. Fact is, by posting my OS X experience I figured I was agreeing with you.

And your posts are not even close to what I don't like about these boards. Being defensive's a waste of time when no one's attacking you.

Maybe XP is bloated and maybe not. I never felt that it was, and I used it constantly until, for MANY REASONS, hardly any of which had to do with XP itself, I switched to mac.

My point was that I found OS X to have a huge footprint until I figured out how to pare it down. I can't say that Apple gave me any help there. For a while I was thinking, man, this sucker is RESPONSIVE -- until I realized that it wasn't unloading my apps after I thought (wrongly) that I'd closed them. Not hard to be responsive when most or all of what needs to run is sitting there in RAM, waiting.
