New to the Internet?

Well, no, actually, I'm not new to the Internet. I have been on the 'net since late
1991. While I didn't help create it like a former Presidential candidate once
claimed, I have seen it develop from a very rudimentary, but promising
technology.

I might be idealistic, but I find it really a sad loss when there is a good
opportunity, despite the technical issues and lack of professionalism (sorry ZD,
but it's been pointed out many times even just on this forum and by more users
than just tic and me!), for a constructive, contributional discussion with the
common goal of solving problems.

The kind of moronic commentary by Loverock and NonZealot, and now
Moosehouse (I can't begin to give "credit" to all those guilty), who bash Macs
without practical experience or even reliable sources of information, serves only to
make this potentially worthy timespace and bandwidth nearly useless. I find it a
waste of valuable, non-renewable resources.

To be fair, there are Mac users here who not only get sucked into this baited
situation, but also some who bait devoted Microsoft users, so I don't want to hear
how I'm a zealot too. I have used both systems and continue to use Windows so
that I know what my Windows-using clients experience is like. Personally, I prefer
Macs and defend to the death my right to choose to use them for reasons that
have been gone over here thousands of times, just as there are those who prefer
Windows for their purposes. I don't think they should be wiped from the face of
the planet.

To be fair, my multiple posting wasn't the fault of ZD; I happened to be working in
the presence of my 7-yr old son and while editing the text, accidentally submitted
it before I'd finished my "rant". I can only hope that most of the posts here are
similarly ill-affected, but again, I expose my optimism.
