Windows users please don't take offense to the previous rant.
Windows is very popular and does a lot of things well. The fact that it can run on
so many different types of hardware, many really cheap, is almost a miracle. I
believe people should have a choice of operating systems and not be dictated
what OS to use. My rant is more about the untrue and biased negaitve reporting
and FUD driven comments from the people who want to unfairly slam Apple.
Apple was almost assasinated by negative press in the mid 90s. The scare being
that Apple was going under or were going to be bought out. The press scared off
enough customers that even though Apple produced exremely fine products,
people were afraid to buy because of the fear and doubt created by the negative
press. In my 16 years or so of being a Mac user, I've heard thousands of
completely stupid comments about the Mac from uninformed Windows users who
honestly knew nothing about Macintosh. So, it irks me today to hear such moronic
garbage about the platform that keeps food on my plate.

I think if I had been forced to use Windows for Graphic Design and the deadline
driven work that I put my Macs through on a regular basis, I would either have
given up or be out of business for not making deadlines. Windows is not and
never has been nearly as dependable as Macintosh, especially since OSX has been
developed. It's the proper tool for my work. Mechanics use Snapon Tools for their
work even though they cost 20 times what Walmart tools cost. The Mac is my
Snapon.
