That bad eh?
That you had to repeat yourself? I was serious by the way. XP is not an OS hog. I am a programmer with VS 2003, VS 2005, SQL 2000 Dev Ed., 2005 Express, IIS running all the time. I can tell you how much resource a heavy duty Microsoft app uses. Maybe it's more than I'd like, but 512MB on XP and I'm fine with all these apps running. XP, with services I use, is sitting about 150 to 165 MB after a clean boot. How much RAM does OSX use? If you are going to tell me it's less than 150MB, I'm thinking you are running very little background.
But the Quicktime and iTune comments were serious. iTunes uses around 100MB. Almost as much as XP itself!! I can run 2 devenv.exe sessions (2003/2005), SQL 2000/2005 (just the service, not a huge database loaded in memory, ok) and IIS for under what just freaking iTUNES uses. So you tell me....what was wrong with my post? I think Apple's software is more bloated than anyone's. That is my talkback opinion.
