Even if...
Even if the plantiff wins it's not as simple as you seem to believe.

We live in a day and age where a mere investigation (even if one is completely innocent) can cost a person their career, friends, resources and sometimes their lives/health.

The immediate, percieved benefits to law enforcement derived from the "Patriot Act" will come at far too great a price to our children through the destruction of liberty. Unfortunately there are many foolish people who can't (or choose not to) see it.
