Hundreds of people jailed in the US's base in Cuba with no charges files against them and no opportunity to defend themselves. They're basically holding them until they can find a reason to execute them, or until they die first.

Now, these people aren't US citizens and thus not subject to the Patriot Act. But this type of thing is exactly what the Patriot Act seeks to do to US citizens.

If you use the argument that it's not dangerous because it hasn't been used, try this: Leave a loaded gun on your kitchen counter where your kids make themselves sandwiches. If your wife/husband/S.O. is horrified, just say, "Sure, it's POTENTIALLY dangerous, but give me one example where this gun has ever killed anyone!"

If we don't need to worry about the Patriot Act because it's never used, then it logically follows that we don't need the law. So repeal it.
