Perceptions can really vary.
I perceive of him as the worst president in my lifetime. I
agree with absolutely nothing he has done. I am pro choice,
pro gun control, pro environment, and anti war. Carter
although the most morally sound president was ineffective
in his first term to most historians. However he negociated
peace between Begin and Sadat, a peace in the Middle-East
that holds even today. Clinton was trying to do the same
when he left office. Had the rigged election not turned out
as it did i feel confident that Gore would have continued
down this road. Instead the Bush administration ignored
the conflict there until it was too late and we were attacked.
Don't kid yourself the root cause of terrorism in the Middle
East is the perception of the US playing favorites with
Sharon and Israel.
