I agree. And this is a smart move by M$...making sure that they are relevant and profiting no matter which way the wind blows.

I do not agree with the terminal assessment, however...or that the same PC will still be on the desk 10 years from now. We continue to place additional demands on PCs, even in the business environment. There is so much that is done on the client-side, with no need to move it to a server. And I really don't want to try to predict the new capabilities that will drive additional demand for client side processing even 5 years from now. Anyway, I actually think that grids will come to fruition within 10 years (we've done a pilot here) and that the goal of getting better ROI from client stations will supercede any decision to move to terminals or allow the client machines to stagnate.
