People aren't that stupid
Zealots will always find a way to criticize no matter what you do, but most people are level headed and will understand who is at fault. If MS does not provide Symantec and the rest with proper documentation, then yes it is MS's fault if there is a problem. But if they do provide proper documentation and Symantec or McAfee do have a security problem with their software, then the general public will know MS is not to blame.

MS's best strategy is to keep their own house clean and give everyone else enough rope to hang themselves. And it looks like that is what they are trying to do.
