Be Compliant but separately allow IE rendering
As a longtime Opera user, I use it as my default browser & only switch to IE (& now possibly FF) when the pages don't display properly, which used to be pretty often, but now in version 9 is quite seldom.

I use Opera for its speed & mouse gestures. But I came so close to turfing it prior to version 9, because it couldn't render so many pages. I was and still am so annoyed at the Opera people - yes, absolutely maintain compliancy for the basic engine. But PLEASE learn from FF, and allow us the option, for instance, to right-click and "View pasge as IE" or some such mechanism. Without that I have to go start up IE or FF, which is time consuming and annoying, & inside I am muttering to myself "you self-righteous ideologues - keep the basic engine clean, but just give us the option, so I don' have to waste time & be annoyed at you . . . and so Opera might get more market share."

You've done brilliant work with Opera - way ahead of its time when it was first developed. But there is little question in my mind, working in the software field, that this is one of the chief reasons Opera never too much market share, and along with marketing savvy, why FF overtook Opera so quickly.
