He'll ALLOW it, he doesn't WANT it...
In other words, he sees the need for freedom of choice. His choice might not be yours, but he won't stand in your way from making that choice.

And it's exactly that reason why I think Linux will be successful in the future. MS and Adobe might look to force DRM on you when you don't necessarily want it forced on you, whereas Linux will give you the choice to opt out of anything to do with DRM if it bothers you that much.

Also, Linus recognizes that DRM is as good or as bad as the person/company implementing it. He also seems to recognize that if you trust your customers/clients, they will trust you. So by implementing DRM as an option but not necessarily endorsing DRM for the kind of uses MS or Adobe are planning, Linux gains in public trust while still giving people who want it what they need.
