For that matter....
I wouldn't suggest even running XP SP2 without at least a full GB of Ram or more today, you could eat a ham sandwich between page changes. Most P4 mobo's in the hands currently (talking the HP's, the Gateways, many of the Dells, etc. won't even take 1 GB or the proper Vid Card to run Aero properly), but there are still a lot of PIII's (and even PII's as sick as that is), out there in the public's hands and in use daily...Almost all I have touched are already maxed out at 512MB of ram.

The way most of those were sold w/ XP on them to sell low price were sold w/ only 128GB, upgraded about 20-25% to 512MB orig. They crawl w/ XP. The convincing of the public to do the cheap speed upgrade of adding Ram is still a decent hard sell because of it. Sure...I rin 3GB min....But most don't.
