Part of my regular toolkit is SYMCLN.exe
And all the Norton AV removers....If Norton AV and other Symantec software was EVER INSTALLED I always run both...The oldest Norton AV Remover first, up to the latest Norton AV Removal Tool, then finish up by running SYMCLN.exe...It will tell you then and only then it is OK to install Norton. They do not work for Corporate...That is a different tool. But I still run SYMCLN.exe after the Norton Corporate Removal tool too.

My Norton System Works 2002 Pro, running Win DR. once also found a Trojan that is a regular part of Norton AV too (it is actually a Trojan Downloader)...It is the thing that shuts off the Live Update after your subscription expires...Imagine that, I never got a real answer from Symantec about why an AV has an active Trojan actually built into it. Was fishy to me, but I understand them protecting their subscription $$$$$'s. There has to be a better way to do that w/ their servers instead of our PC's.
