have been doing something the gov now deems 'wrong'. Those in power love to
have ways to control and get money from those being governed. One way to get
more money would be to see what people are doing and then tax it. When enough
people are doing something of interest then the gov could step in and get deeper
into our lives."

This is exactly what the USDA is doing now with implementing a National Animal ID System (NAIS). They are data mining agricultural information to "voluntarily" register premises of people that own livestock. They plan to track every animal in the country and are using disease control as the excuse. In actuality it will become a tax on small farms, homesteaders and people with non traditional pets that will drive them out of business or force them to give up their animals. The only beneficiaries of this plan are government, agribusiness and data technology companies.
