Flaming bags o' Pooh...
Because they have VERY good enterprise deployment, management and tracking tools. It's not all about you. ;o)

Yeah.. Ok.. And your point is?

For what it's worth, an AV product that deploys nicely over a network and such is usually a good thing.

Except when the AV doesn't want to update. Ever. Fat lot of good that does anybody.

I just spent the bulk of last week completely reinstalling a company's network because Norton AV Corporate edition utterly, completely failed them. I have no real clue as to what viruses, spyware, trojans and other malware infested the network there. Couldn't get Norton to even do it's job. Online scanners pronounced the computer as infected - and did their best to remove the infection. But there was something VERY well hidden on the machine that caused the infections to reappear as soon as the PCs were connected to the network. The only solution was to backup the data as best as possible, fdisk, format and reinstall everything.

As a consequence, the company was shut down for pretty much an entire week. They lost pretty much an entire week's production, the price of a new antivirus solution AND my fee. NOT a good week for them.

So I say again, what's your point?
