Which people?
Before you devote too much sympathy to Symantec and other "software giants", consider that much of their code is stolen from some other vendor or individual (who are too poor to take on a "giant" in a copyright infringement suit).

And then there is the small issue of product misrepresentation, claiming features and support that don't exist, while selling a product that does more harm than good.

So, if we are going to send someone to jail, perhaps we should start with Symantec's board of directors.
