Almost any crash is a potential exploit
If you crash the player then most of the time what you're doing is corrupting the stack or a pointer. Most of the attacks that take over a program by injecting code in it are perfomed by exploiting stack or pointer corruption to slip exploit code in under the program counter... so any time you have an attack that leads to a crash you have to treat it as an exploitable vulnerability.
