- Another Linux fanatic who apparantly cannot read...
-
This article was about the seven security updates with patches for 11 security vulnerabilities that Microsoft are releasing. You will note that there is NO mention of Linux whatsoever.
Now, looking at your pathetic rant:
1) "Linux runs up to 50X faster"
Ok, lets see some figures to back that one up. I take it you are talking about the kernel (which definitely doesn't).
2) "Office Suites that actually work"
Obviously you are not talking about OpenOffice considering the botch it makes of converting MS Office documents; a point that has been made on these boards on numerous occasions.
3) "Also, good reason that most of Microsoft Corporation and all servers, run on and/or behind, GNU/Linux!"
Another pile of horsecrap. Go visit Netcraft and see which Microsoft servers are running behind Linux. I think you will find that, apart from Akamai (who MS outsource the downloads and search functions to), all Microsoft servers are running Microsoft OS's.
4) "media programs"
Ok, now this is the best one yet. Sound / Video on Linux is pathetic. Can Linux play DVD's legally? Can Linux distributions that are committed to the concept of the FSF play MP3's?
No.
Linux has to use proprietary codecs to play these and therefore those distributions are in breach of the concepts of the FSF. Just listen to the debate about Ubuntu packing binaries to see how messed up Linux really is at the moment.
5) "There are so many areas fully addressed by GNU/Linux and the FREE Open Source Software movement, that Vista can't touch in the foreseeable future."
Name one that anyone actually would care about.
If I was Linus Torvalds I would punch the living snot out of you for this post, simply because of the damage you are doing to the image of Linux and the community behind it. - Posted by: Scrat Posted on: 12/14/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
