It prompts before opening from the web

"If I click on a link to a .DOC file from a web site, then what?" If you're using IE, it prompts you whether you really want to open the file or not. It defaults to "Cancel". It doesn't start "playing" right away. Whereas WMP will automatically go ahead and play it without asking you for any confirmation.

I think what this really shows is that the WMP sustained engineering team is very well organized and agile, that's all. Maybe we should send some of them to the Office team? And after 6 months, when they're finally up-to-speed on the Office codebase, maybe then we'll see a difference?

Anyways... leave it up to ZDNet commenters to chastize MS for releasing a security patch promptly for a change.
