and my answer is : yeah, you wish :P
I am a romanian citizen, and I am proud to be born in Romania. My dear friend kbaldwindw, it seems you think the shotgun is your answer to anything you cannot understand. Don't get me wrong, I am a network engineer and I also don't like for my servers to be hacked into, but hey! we all must admit that the young romanian guy discussed in here is a genius, there's no shadow of a doubt! Admit it, my friend, he was able to break some of the most secured sistems in the whole world! Isn't that a sign of a genius mind? I bet you wish you had at least one percent of his computer knowledge! Don't get me wrong my pal, the materialized actions of that genius mind - I would totally disagree with those actions but my oppinion quickly changed when I saw on the local news an interview with Victor (the hacker). He frankly answered he did all that not for malicious purposes, but just for fun and having in mind the purpose of demonstrating to the american computer-security experts how poor was their idea of network security happy Now I'm askin' you: is that a crime? If showing other people how wrong they are when thinking they are fail-proof are crimes, than I agree to be convicted myself :)) The actions of that 26-year-old romanian guy were meant to make some harm, I must agree, but to make harm
in a constructive way
. So please, please! stop blaming us (read: ROMANIAN PEOPLE) just for being smarter that you, even if we live in a smaller and poorer country! And, yeah, remember that: Romania, my country, is located in the Central Europe, not Asia or whatever location you are thinking (double :P) Also please take into consideration that some of us, (again, read: ROMANIAN PEOPLE) were wirelessly logging into our secured network servers using a Nokia N95 Symbian-powered mobile phone and a 256bit-encrypted ssh connection, when you were still asking yourselves, staring at your Motorola Razr's keypad: "what does this button do?!?!?" Think again my friend from somewhere in the US ... think again before ... squeezing the trigger. Ohh, I almost fogot: Mr. Moderator, you may delete my post and ban my access, but take a minute and reflect on the (possibly hurting) truth I posted in here. Thank you for your wasting time on reading my oppinion. Best wishes, Dani from Bucharest, Romania
