I guess it was Microsoft?s plan to market a defective product to keep IT professionals in work and to keep Symantec and Mcafee in business?

No patch can ever fix XP due to apps having security override. That is why spyware can always sneak in. It can never be prevented, only specific known threats can be filtered out prior to them installing themselves. But change the file name and it can get in again.

This can't happen with Apples BSD UNIX based OSX without the owner being asked for an admin password. In OSX the security is always at system control.

I wonder if Vista will copy OSX in that regard? If Vista is just more code on top of XP code, it will not. It would require a complete new OS to be written from he ground up and that would break all the older software.
