I agree with you..
Stupid maybe, ignorant more likely. Until it breaks people don't
maintain their cars, their anything, why expect more from them
with their computers. Most folks don't want nor care to become
computer literate, they surf, send e-mail and Google that's
computers in their lives.

True tons of folks are unprotected or under protected.
Computers aren't important to them, if it turns on they can get
their e-mail life is well. I've called on folks that purchased a
computer that came with a AV. That AV was for six months and
has long been outdated, but to them they have a AV; that's the
nature of the beast. Also know folks that saw the Windows
update popup, they told me their computer was running fine so
why update. Computers aren't a priority in their lives, not any
different than a toaster, refrigerator, or microwave.

People drive over the speed limit, run red lights and stop signs,
smoke, over eat and move too little then complain about their
weight and illnesses, etc. so how can we expect them to have
their computer high on their list of life's priorities.

I would think auto mechanics feel the same way about their
customers as we do about ours. Wondering why folks don't take
more interest in their car care. Hey that's life.
