- Another free lunch horror story...............
-
Don?t even try to explain it, justify it, defend it, or even rationalize it?. Linux sucks too!
But then, the end of the ?Free? Linux is coming to end as well?.
The Linux world has begun the migration to the ?required? support option (See Red Hat Enterprise). Sure the software is free, but you will soon be required to purchase the support if you want to use it. Yes I know you can download the source, compile it yourself, but wait until something goes wrong?. I can hear the phone call? ?What! You compiled it yourself, we don?t support that configuration. You will need to reload your system.? Music to the ears of all IT support staff at 3:00AM with management crawling up their back!
Watch as all major hardware vendors shift to only support the ?required support? version. This will migrate down to the desktop versions as well. You want Linux on your new Dell PC? It?s only $150.00 for the required support on the ?Free? operating system. You can also have Windows XP is $150.00 and we will throw in the support for free! What a deal!
Game over.
Linux users are tomorrow?s suckers in the computer monopoly game! Who will get to throw the dice next!
Linux programmers, when they are not stealing code, have been used as tools by large corporations to create a new product to generate revenue. Wake up and smell the coffee. This is the largest mass duping of smart people on the planet. The fall has begun as large corporations come in the back door to turn Linux into the next profit center.
You see, I don?t care which OS wins, I always new I could make money off of both flawed products. The money has always been in the support of each operating system?.
While all of you OS zealots spend your time arguing about which operating system is better, I?ll be getting rich providing support the latest OS flavor of the week.
Thanks for providing a poorly supported and flawed product to beef up my Profit & Loss statement!
Let see, will it be a new Hummer or Mercedes? Or maybe a new home in Aspen....... - Posted by: TheTruthGiver Posted on: 04/15/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
