It's not theft...
...but it is an infringement of copyright, which is illegal. Or are you saying that it's OK to infringe on copyrighted material because it's not 'stealing'? What about GPL'd software? Doesn't the GPL depend on copyright law? Speaking of slippery slopes, I would think anyone who supports OSS would support Microsoft's right to protect its IP, misguided draconian measures notwithstanding.
