and tonight its not SAVISS Windows 2003 but Hotmail/Linux
and this "story" simply says that the load distribution strategy was broken ... I'm betting they had more fundamental problems cause if it was simply load distribution things would get slow as mollasses but still work ... the problems seems to be they timed out or broke upper limits on the numbers of clients ... not just ran out of bandwidth. But who knows, since MS runs technical support and engineering out of the PR group nobody really beleives much of what they say - anymore!
