Disproportional Punishments
The bottom line is that this essentially gets filed under the heading of "white collar crime", and as such does not get the level of punishment that it should deserve. In essence, white collar crime is crime that DOES pay. Example: Steal, lie, and cheat on the stock market, and when you get caught you are punished to the tune of 5-15% of what you stole. The same applies here. Lie, steal, and cheat, make false statements in advertising (yes, the header/subject is part of the advertisement!), collect your cash, and never get punished.

Murderers and rapists can get the death penalty, but corporate thieves get a tax break.
