Any webmaster who stores passwords in plain-text should be shot!

I know that and you know that but think about it: when you enter your username/password on somesite.com, what assurance do you have that your password is stored as a hash? None. Maybe you trust the programmers of somesite.com but I don't.

Firefox works exactly the same way on any platform, so your argument doesn't hold water in this context.

Hmm, if you were to listen to the zealots on ZDNet, you would swear that Windows is the only OS that ever endangers its users. I stand corrected! wink
