No. Passwords are not normally stored on the server at all. Only a hash of the password (against which the correct password can be verified) is stored, and the password cannot be retrieved from this hash. Any webmaster who stores passwords in plain-text should be shot!

Well, if you use Linux or OSX though, you don't have to worry about this since those OSs are said to be "secure by design".

Firefox works exactly the same way on any platform, so your argument doesn't hold water in this context.
