Really? When was the last time you saw this type of vulnerability in any Linux distribution? Name it. Give us a link.


Linux is fifteen years old. There are more Web servers running Linux than Windows; it's just as fat a target. And we still have not seen a real virus successful in the wild. Not one. Zero viruses in fifteen years.


I'm not talking about PHP exploits. They're the same on anything that hosts PHP. I'm talking about something that can break into a workstation running the default "out-of-the-box" configuration.


It's your (or your bosses') choice to run a vulnerable system. The alternatives are free and don't have the problem. You can always keep your MSFT box (or drive) around to launch games with, safely disconnected from the big bad Internet.
