Invading someone's privacy is not cheap!
If service providers can't charge the FED's for the cost of invading someone's privacy, then we, the consumer, will once again be paying for Big Brother's good time. It's obvious by recent headlines that the FED's don't act upon information unless someone is going to get a brownie point. Then they blame their inactions on anything but the real issue. The FBI doesn't have any personnel that is qualified to eaves drop on E-info. At least that is what I read into Ashcroft's statement blaming IT for the FED's lack of action. They have raised all this stink about being able to eaves drop and forcing service providers to provide them the avenue, then it comes to light that when they were presented with info, they sat on their duff and didn't know what to do with it.

Limiting the cost of eaves dropping will only provide incentive to eaves drop for less than valid reasons. Another witch hunt funded by the users of E-info. America was settled to get away from this type of tyrany. Sounds like it's time for another tea party.
