But, notice the difference...
...in the speed of page loading. IE may "pop-up" faster, but then takes forever to finish loading the page. FF on the other hand, takes longer for the browser to appear, but loads the page faster, and a new tab is even faster still than launching a new window with IE. Frankly, I would rather not see the browser open quickly just so I can stare at the progress meter and painfully slow progress loading the page for awhile.

It probably evens out and total speed may be similar in the end, but it seems to me that FF 2 is overall faster than IE (I only have IE ver 6). After all, the browser only needs to open once (FF), whereas many pages will have to be opened.
