So wrong it hurts
Realize that exploits that don't require ActiveX are in the extreme minority.

If you look at all the successful exploits, none of them required ActiveX. There may be 100,000 unsuccessful exploits that do use ActiveX but it hardly helps your point.

And even in this case, the infection becomes instantly much worse trying to clear (probably beyond the skills of most home users) because of ActiveX.

Why would ActiveX make it harder to remove malware? This I have to hear!

Say...if I fired a dozen bullets at you versus 130,000 rounds, in which scenario do you think I'd have the better chance of hitting you?

Oh, this is too easy. If I'm vulnerable to bullets, I quite frankly don't care if I get hit by 1 bullet, 12 bullets, or 130,000 bullets. I can't be more dead because I was hit with 130,000 bullets! So right there, your analogy is off. The second way your analogy sucks is that if I'm in a tank, you could hit me with 999,999,999,999,999 bullets and I wouldn't care. Using Firefox, ensuring your firewall is up, and running as a restricted rights user puts me in as good a tank as you will find with Linux or OSX. You might want to think of a better analogy because you do nothing but disprove your own point with this one. Try again!
