So don't assume you are 100% safe if you're not running IE even though the threat is greatly diminished. Some of the bad guys are actively probing for weaknesses in the alternative browsers and something can still sneak up on you if you're unwary.

Also remember that P2P software is another common source of problems. Most of these programs are essentially a scumware delivery system. Many people who I've helped clean up their systems have been heavy P2P users who don't exercise a lot of caution on what they run.
