Poor msolgeek
The "market share" argument doesn't cut it, as I have already said.

You've said it, you haven't backed it up. At least I've given another datapoint where Windows is not targetted and happens to have very little marketshare. Since we know that Windows is always the easiest target, why aren't mobile Windows devices targetted while Symbian devices are? Why?

What you're trying to say is that most car thieves will go for Hyundai Accents as the have more market share than an Infiniti Q

Wow, what a terrible analogy in 2 ways:
1. The most stolen cars are not the expensive cars at all. Things like Civics, Corollas, and Neons are the most stolen cars. So to answer your immediate question, I would say that thieves go after Accents more than they go after Infinit Qs.

2. Cars are not like OSs in so many ways, it isn't even funny. Since thieves that can only break into 1 type of car aren't "mass mailed" to neighborhoods in the hopes of creating a thief net so immediately, your analogy fails. Also, when creating car thieving tools, you don't have to purpose build slim jims or hammers that only work in 1 type of car. When creating malware, it will only work against 1 OS so you choose the OS with the largest marketshare.

See, instead of just sticking out my tongue and saying "nya nya, marketshare counts because I said so", I provide backup for my theories. The fact that you haven't been able to provide anything better than "I told you so" proves to me that you are simply parroting things you've heard other people say. Have you actually ever even once thought about your belief that marketshare doesn't matter or do you just take other people's word for it?
