Apache serves web pages, not emails or DNS. Since SenderID uses email & DNS, there's no need to put it on Apache.

And AOL does support SPF, even if they don't support SenderID. Since the two systems are very similar and serve the same purpose, it really doesn't matter which one they use. Nearly all mail servers will check for both types of records when receiving an email.
No one else apparently cares because it doesn't really work all that well.
Actually, this technology does work. When I switched to an email service that supported SPF, my spam count dropped dramatically from dozens a day to less than one a day. Simply put, close to 99% of the emails were forging their headers and got detected and rejected at the server.

Indeed, if there's 36% supporting SenderID, it makes me wonder what % is supporting SPF. More than likely, over half are supporting one technology or the other (or both), and the low percentage is very misleading, because it does not include both technologies.
And what was this about DNS Denial of Service Attack related to SenderID?
I dunno. You tell me. So far, I haven't seen it.
