What a bunch of liars. I've been in IT for 11 years now. NOTHING HAS CHANGED. Corporate America is still lying to the public because most people aren't informed enough to call their bluff.
The article quoted someone as saying, "Do not plan for initial use of 64-bit Vista if you are using incompatible products for which no suitable alternative exists." without mentioning what a lie that is.
The ONLY products effected are anti-virus packages, which you WILL NOT NEED with Vista.
Honestly, who cares about these anti-virus software companies? Personally I don't want to buy third party anti-virus software. The operating system (Vista) should take care of that stuff automatically, which it does.
Also, by locking out all applications from this part of Vista it makes the system SO MUCH MORE SECURE. If MS opens the system to ANY other software, someone will hack it. That's how a virus works. It accesses the OS using 'holes' left for anti-virus programs, and others.
Locking out ALL applications is the only way to ensure this is secure, because hackers will always break any 'lock' you might create to allow limited access.
SHAME ON YOU for posting this horrible liar's quote, and for not mentioning what bull it is. What a rag. The internet is a new world folks, we're going to spit liars like you out faster then ever before. BE HONEST, OR YOU WILL EARN A BAD RAP ONLINE! It's not like the old world boys, you're in our camp now.
