Title should read Windows Zombies
Hijacked computers have become one of the most serious security problems on the Internet.

Hijacked Windows computers have become one of the most serious threats on the internet. Why do you leave that off? This isn't a problem with any other operating system. Even MSFT admits it:

Zombies are the most prevalent threat to Windows PCs, according to a Microsoft report released earlier this year.

And before some twitwit tries to claim that if Linux was more popular it would be attacked more, you're wrong. It's much harder to automate attacking a *nix box. Even after getting in they would still have to find a way to elevate their permissions. That's a manual process. You can't just plant a virus on a p0rn site and start running a *nix bot network.

Botnets are a WINDOWS problem, not an internet problem. And, no, the solution isn't to upgrade to Vista, but I've got money that's what MSFT says.
